Hitting Clinic objective: This is an opportunity for area players to improve their hitting skills through instruction from the Creighton baseball coaching staff and players. The players are then encouraged to take what is learned during instruction into a competitive game situation. Although individual and team statistics will be compiled, the primary goal is on improvement not winning or losing.
•TEAMS - The clinic is comprised of four-player teams who compete against other teams within their age division. Individuals who register will be assigned to a team.
•DIVISIONS - 3 Divisions are formed according to the ages of players:
A - Ages 9-11
AA - Ages 12-13
AAA - Ages 14-18
•COMPETITION – Teams will play a seven inning game with each player taking 5 swings (per inning) off the pitching machine.
•SCORING – Each cage is marked with scoring areas. Hitting line drives and ground balls into the designated areas accumulates points.
•INSTRUCTION – Participants must report 30 minutes prior to competition for drill work and instruction.
•STATISTICS – Weekly e-mails will be sent out with updated team standings and individual leader statistics.
•SCHEDULE- The schedule will be e-mailed to each participant Thursday prior to the first Saturday.
•REGISTRATION – The registration deadline is Jan. 10, 2012! If you are registering individually and would like to be placed with another player please indicate that so we can try and put you together. Otherwise we will place you on a team.
•Refund Policy: Full refund will be provided, minus a $25 administrative fee, if you contact the camp director one-week prior to the camp start date. Refunds will not be provided after this time.
All hitting clinic dates are Saturdays or Sundays as indicated. Times are designated according to age and will be e-mailed to each participant. The Hitting Clinic will be held in Creighton’s indoor hitting facility located in the Kitty Gaughan Pavilion adjacent to the baseball field.
Creighton Baseball Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender.
